Yvonne Walkinshaw
“ I have been involved with CCI for about two years. I became interested in their good work through attempting to source out projects in South Lanarkshire that the service users from my workplace (Scottish Society for Autism) could become involved in. I am passionate that those with disabilities should be 'enabled' rather than 'disabled'. I am also passionate about the outdoors, our environment and all things 'Equine'. To this end, I am trained as a group instructor with the 'Riding for the Disabled' organisation, I also have an interest in 'Equine facilitated learning and education'. When I have any spare time, I can usually be found outdoors, on a horse, or walking the dog, usually accompanied by my long-suffering husband, Alick. ”
Lisa Greer
“ Lisa is an occupational therapist with Clydesdale Resource Network, the Community Mental Health Team for Clydesdale. Her work focuses on supporting individuals who experience mental health difficulties to return to work or engage in other vocational roles. Lisa is also working with the Sainsbury Centre for Mental Health as a trainer, facilitating mental health awareness training to business managers to decrease the incidence of depression in the workplace.
Lisa is passionate about breaking down the barriers to employment for people with mental health problems and, as such, is glad to have the opportunity to support and work alongside CCI as a board member. Lisa is married with 3 children and lives in Carluke. ”
Christine Evans
“ Christine Evans is a founder member of CCI and worked on the Wallace Garden in 2002. This project required formation of the Board and Christine was Chairperson of CCI for over five years. In her spare time, Christine is happiest raising many plants in her polytunnel and vegetable garden. Christine is also a member of Upperward Basketmakers, a group keeping an ancient craft alive.
Christine has maintained her interest in CCI as she is passionate about enabling people and getting the project on to a safe footing financially. ”
