Strategic Plans
CCI fills a gap in services and support to severely disadvantaged people. CCI complements mainstream services. It does not duplicate their work. However, the benefits it brings to clients often reduces long term demands on mainstream services.
CCI's evolution
CCI has evolved 3 ideas which now runs through its work:
- Business Like Caring
CCI is a non-profit charity but it embraces business ideas. This keeps it focussed on results and on client and customer satisfaction. - Personal Development, Social Inclusion and Community Benefit are closely linked. Inclusion is stronger and comes sooner when excluded groups are at the heart of large scale community projects.
- Small projects only bring small results unelss they are part of a route to something bigger. CCI knows that, to bring maximum community benefit, it needs to expand
CCI's expansion
In order to expand, CCI needs:
- To offer more opportunities to its current client group
- To widen the range of groups it serves and widen what it can offer them
- To take a larger role in the life of the community
More of the same will not be enough. CCI plans to develop a facility and a range of activities which will generate tourism, community, training and employment opportunities. When complete it should have a scale which will multiply CCI's current impact.
CCI needs to expand along 3 parallel lines:
- It needs to expand its income generating activities and steadily lessen its dependence on grants. In 2008 - 09, commercial activity was 20% of the total; it aims to increase total income significantly and to increase the proportion of this from commercial activity
- It needs to expand its pool of partners and customer organisations. It believes that its approach to social inclusion and personal development can serve a wider range of people than at present.
- It needs to build a coalition of organisations to suppoprt and develop its radical new building project and the activities which it will accommodate.
